Some of you have perhaps already seen Ihsahn and his backingband Leprous at the Inferno Festivalen (NOR) and Hellfest Festival (FR). For those of you that haven’t, or want to see more, there are several chances throughout the year, with Tuska Open Air (FIN) next.
The first project to enter Ivory Shoulder Studio is the Norwegian band Ørkenkjøtt. Active since 2005, this young act has already recorded two demos. Their first recording was actually a prize they won after winning Rockekampen i Telemark, where they got two days of recording time in Akkerhaugen Lydstudio. Ørkenkjøtt also has extensive live experience, and has by their energetic and soulful performances already gained themselves a name in the Norwegian underground.
We are now working with their debut album, and definitely believe this is one of the bands that will fill the future. More news on the project to follow later.

Our designer Ritxi has by his new video made a tribute to the scene “Elephants on Parade” from Disney’s film Dumbo. It has been his intention to create a personal tribute to this particular scene, surprisingly considered one of the 100 scariest cinema scenes of all time.
Pink Elephants on Parade is the second chapter of the ¡Viva Calaca! (vivacalaca.com) project. The story happens immediately after what happened on the first video of the project, where a group of little skulls danced at the celebration of the arrival of the Day of the Dead in a very small and typical village in Mexico. At this second chapter, once the party has ended, one of the little skulls drinks more than recommended, and starts having some terrifying nightmares, as it happens to the little Dumbo at Disney’s film. Music on the piece is performed by the Seattle (USA) band-show Circus Contraption, that have created an amazing version of the original theme appearing on the film.

Ivory Shoulder Studio is an extension of Mnemosyne Productions, located at the heart of Telemark, Norway. Previously named Symphonique Studio, this was used for Mnemosyne related projects exclusively. Now opening for other projects than our own, we mark that transition by renaming our studio. We are happy to announce the collaboration between Ihsahn and Blackstar amps. This new and high quality British brand is surely a rising star in the world of amps. Ihsahn played the aforementioned Inferno show with his newly acquired Series One 200.
Ihsahn performed his first show this year at the Inferno Festival in Oslo this Easter. With his backing band Leprous and Shining’s Jørgen Munkeby on Saxophone, this seven-piece band had a great time performing and was received very well by the audience.
