After contains eight new songs, all written and recorded by Ihsahn at Symphonique Studio and mixed by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios. The album features guest performances by drummer Asgeir Mickelson, bassist Lars Koppang Norberg (both Spiral Architect) and saxophone player Jørgen Munkeby (Shining).
