MNEMOSYNE

MNEMOSYNE PRODUCTIONS was established in Norway 2003 by founders Heidi S. Tveitan/Starofash and Vegard Tveitan/Ihsahn as an extension to their work in the music industry. This label is mainly an outlet for their own musical collaborations. The founders have more than 10 years of experience as recording artists (Emperor, Ihsahn, Peccatum, Starofash and TSS), and have recorded and produced most of their recent work at their creative playground; SYMPHONIQUE STUDIO. At present, they are also working with selected tasks in film and web scoring.

IHSAHN

IHSAHN comes from Notodden, Norway, where he at the age of 13 started playing in what developed into one of the world’s most influential black metal bands, EMPEROR. At only 17 he recorded and performed “In the Nightside Eclipse”, which has been many times over voted one of the top metal albums of all time. Since then, IHSAHN has divided his time between the metal and avant-garde worlds in projects like EMPEROR, THOU SHALT SUFFER, PECCATUM, HARDINGROCK and last but not least his ongoing solo vessel IHSAHN. In addition to his work as a musician, he teaches guitar, writes columns for Guitar world and is together with partner Heidi S. Tveitan running Mnemosyne Productions and Symphonique studio.

STAROFASH

Behind the name STAROFASH is musician and songwriter Heidi Solberg Tveitan, born in Kristiansand, Norway. Coming from a musical background where piano lessons and choir practices were natural parts of her childhood, it still was not until she meet her husband Vegard Tveitan that her interest for music developed into a passion outside the girl-room. In addition to her ongoing project STAROFASH, she has recorded and performed albums with PECCATUM, HARDINGROCK and written her first soundtrack for the movie ULTERIOR. Heidi is together with Vegard running MNEMOSYNE PRODUCTIONS and SYMPHONIQUE STUDIO.

Heidi was at first known in the music industry as Ihriel from the experimental metal act PECCATUM. After several years of releases and tours in Europe and USA with the band, she debuted as a solo artist in 2001 with the record “Iter.Viator” (Jester Records/VME). The second STAROFASH album “The thread” (Mnemosyne/Candlelight Records) was released in 2008, and the gap in time between albums shows that the girl has been busy elsewhere in the music world. Heidi’s collaborators include the German musician and composer Markus Reuter, the Japanese cyber-punk writer Kenji Siratori, the Norwegian fiddler Knut Buen, everyones favourite Kristoffer G. Rygg, Irish director Jason Mehlhorn and designer Ritxi Ostáriz.

The soundtrack for ULTERIOR will be released this spring in a very lovely, hand numbered special edition. The third full-length from STAROASH, “LAKHESIS”, is set for release late autumn.

Musically STAROFASH is dealing inside avantgardistic pop/rock sondscapes, and over constantly changing sonic sceneries, the compelling melody is often the leading thread from beginning to end.
